Obituary for Barbara Gaffney
Waterbury, CT Barbara Gaffney, 85, the widow of Francis Peter Gaffney, died peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Abbott Terrace Health Center.
Barbara was born on May 9, 1931 in Providence, RI the daughter of the late Alphonse and Ruth (Green) Lizotte and had been a Naugatuck resident for most of her life. Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who formerly worked at Scovill Manufacturing, Century Brass and Walteck.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Edward Gaffney and his wife Christine of Naugatuck, Thomas M. Gaffney of Naugatuck, Andrew Gaffney of DeBary, FL, Michael Gaffney and his wife Tamela of Naugatuck, Francis Peter Gaffney, Jr. of Cheshire; her daughter, Margaret Gaffney of Waterbury; her 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by 2 sons, Gary Gaffney and Francis Gaffney.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 10:00am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
