Maria Adelia  Matos
Maria Adelia (Almeida) Matos, 83, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at her son’s home in Prospect. She was the wife of the late Firmino Matos who passed away in 2011.

Mrs. Matos was born in Pardilho, Portugal, on August 16, 1931. A loving wife and mother, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury and member of the Portuguese Club of Naugatuck.

Mrs. Matos is survived by her son, Elisiario Matos and his wife, Lourdes, of Prospect; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Luis Antonio Matos and a brother, Elisiario Almeida.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6, from the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.
