Naugatuck, CT Rosemary (Dunn) Healy, 83, the widow of Joseph R. Healy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Healy was born June 27, 1931 in Naugatuck, CT, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Grace (Thurston) Dunn and had lived in Naugatuck all of her life. Rose attended Naugatuck schools and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Rose is survived by three daughters, Patricia Lynn and her husband William, Mary Downey and her husband Gerald and Rosemary Witkoski and her husband Hank, seven sons, Joseph Healy and his wife Traci, John Healy and his wife Maryanne, James Healy and his wife Debra, Vincent Healy and his wife Deborah, William Healy and his wife Kelly, Timothy Healy and his wife Karen and Michael Healy and his wife Michelle, and her sister, Sister Grace Marie Dunn. Rose will be missed by her 36 grandchildren and her 6 great grandchildren. Rose was predeceased by her two brothers William T. Dunn, Sr., and Lawrence J. “Bud” Dunn, and her two sisters Genevieve (Dunn) O’Dea and Patricia (Dunn) Gaspar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph R. Healy Scholarship Fund, in care of the Naugatuck High School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 474, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
