Mrs. Anne (Walsh) Mannion
NAUGATUCK, CT Mrs. Anne Marie (Walsh) Mannion, 94, formerly of Ash Road, Naugatuck, Connecticut, died at the home of her daughter in Marion, North Carolina on her birthday.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Mannion, who was also of Naugatuck.

Mrs. Mannion was born on August 11, 1920 in Waterbury, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Patrick and Winifred (Moyles) Walsh. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury and St. Agnes Training School for Nurses, in Hartford. She worked as a billing clerk at the Chemical Division of Uniroyal, Inc. in Naugatuck, from where she retired; and she was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Mrs. Mannion is survived by daughters; Karen Nelson, of New York City; Joan Messner, of Marion, NC; Mary Thibert, of Apex, NC; and Kathy Mannion, of Denver, Colorado; and her son, Robert Earl Mannion, of Onsted, Michigan. Mrs. Mannion is predeceased by her three sisters; Christine Widman, of Cheshire, Connecticut, Patricia Schumacher, of Waterbury, Connecticut and Dorothy Marino, of Naugatuck, Connecticut.

Mrs. Mannion cherished her six grandchildren, Matt Messner, Jill (Mannion) Rupley, Michael Thibert, Kimmy (Thibert) Carpenter, Craig Messner and Bobby Mannion; two great grandchildren, Grayson Rupley and Oliver Mannion and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Monday, August 18, 2014 at 8:15 am from the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 338 Church Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
