Julia  Gedraitis (Longobardi)
Bethany-Julia (Longobardi) Gedraitis, 86, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at CT Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of the late Albert E. Gedraitis .

Julia was born on September 4, 1927 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Pasqual Longobardi and Maria (Parlato) Longobardi. For many years she had the privilege of teaching many youngsters from Bethany and the surrounding areas the joy of playing the piano. She was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, playing the piano and watching old movies. Her travels included Bermuda, Canada, New Hampshire, Florida, California, Portugal, France and Jerusalem. She loved feeding the birds and other wildlife every day and will be dearly missed by her family, friends and cat.

She is survived by a son, John Gedraitis, a sister, Mary Dewitt and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Frank, John and Joseph Longobardi and a sister, Ann Sansone.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69 Prospect to St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck for a 10:00 a.m. mass. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8:15 a.m. until time of departure.
