Obituary for Ernest A. Russell
Bethany, Ernest A. Russell 82, passed away at his home on January 31,2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Mary (Daley) Russell.
Ernest was born on December 7,1931 and was the son of the late Arthur and Olive (Short) Russell. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean war. He worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation in New Milford until his retirement. He was active member in the Bethany Historical Society.
Besides his wife Mary of 61 years he leaves one daughter Sharon McLean and her husband Scott, two sons Steven Russell and his wife Karen and John Russell and his wife Marlene. Ernest will be missed by his grandchildren Gregory and Jeffrey McLean, Ryan, MaryEtta, Samuel, Hayley Russell and one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie McLean. He is survived by a sister , Ruby DeCosta and a brother Sidney Russell and predeceased by siblings Lena, Charles, Alice, Henrietta, Edna, Laurice, Dorothy, Merritt and Robert.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 26 Waterbury Rd. Route 69 Prospect. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 11:30 am at Veterans Memorial Park and Lakeview Lodge, 265 Beacon Road, (Rte 42), Bethany.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to; The Bethany Historical Society 512 Amity Rd. Bethany, CT, 06524 or Oak Hill (Jeffrey's Group Home), 120 Holcomb Street, Hartford, CT 06112
